What Makes Gruff Ancient Grains Unique?

Frequently Asked Questions

Our grits are made from whole grain Farro, a nutty version of wheat traced back to Roman times. It is comprised of carbs, fiber, protein and an impressive array of micronutrients.

Because of their hearty nature, ancient grains, including many varieties of wheat have existed for centuries. Modern, conventional, commercially grown wheat has become chemically dependent on synthetic cycles that are detrimental to our soil systems. Gruff believes it's time for a throw back.

Farro is low in gluten therefore not gluten free. It is possible for those with wheat allergies to enjoy farro symptom free; however this product is not gluten free and is not safe for those with celiac disease.

Gruff Ancient Grain Grits are made from the whole grain, Farro. Farro’s simple gluten structure makes it favorable whole grain choice for those suffering with gluten sensitivities.

The grits from this flavorful grain compare to a couscous consistency and prove heartier than traditional corn grits, making it a flexible option for every meal of the day.
